    Sounds Screwed UP

Ok so all of a sudden my headset, when using the usb conector, is really fucked up. The sound is very, very distorted and when I talk on the mic i'm told I sound like a robot. I've tried all my usb slot front and back.

Its not my headset b/c A) I used another one and it did the same thing, and B) When I plug it directly in the jacks in back it works....

Only problem is thats the slot for my regular sound to my tv and I dont wanna switch everytime I wanna watch a movie or w/e. I can plug directly in and get the sound to work perfectly... but apparently my dumbself cant get the mic to work. Either I dunno where the mic plug goes or something screwy is goin on. Im think I just havent found the right combo between jacks (5 of em) on back and recording devices in windows (I think 5 choices).

    Any ideas people?

...Huh. If it has drivers, you could try reinstalling them. You say it does that with multiple USB headsets?

Whenever I install new sound drivers it always mutes my mics and I can't really unmute them. All I have to do is unplug the mic reinstall the drivers then plug them back in. It works

    Re: Sounds Screwed UP

So, it used to work, with the same drivers you have now? But now multiple headsets have the same goofy-ness going on? But it works like a champ when you plug directly into the audio jacks?

What kind of sound card have you got? What have you changed recently? And it likely won't be a sound card driver if it's working when you plug directly into the card- More likely to be a mobo chipset driver, or something... I'm no expert, but if you confirm the data above I'll see what my little peanut of a brain and tired old synapses can come up with...
