Thread: Cheap AMD 4200+

In the new blog valve made the statement "scared to play versus. Too much strat.? Dont want to embarrass yourself?" annoys the hell out of me. Did they ever consider that some people dont like to play it because they dont like the way it is set up. Over and over again we have told them we would like different difficulty settings for the hordes. We have talked about diff. modes, even about having a 'handicap' setting where if one team is too far behind in points perhaps the winning team would have to play a harder difficulty or lower the difficulty for the losing team. I mean hundreds of complaints about versus and they have not changed a freaking thing. How about this one, people dont want to play it cause they dont like the difficulty setting and they dont like the way the game flow in versus?! something to that effect anyways. just venting a little here.... annoyed they have not tweaked the vs mode at all even after all the complaining about difficulty lvls. and input for diff. modes.

Nah we are just scared and dont want to be embarrassed, not to mention we dont like stratagy... bah.. boooooo valve, boooo.

yah yah i get it, they where trying to get more people into the versus aspect of the game as lots just play camp. by poking a little fun. just struck a nerve. they could make diff versions of versus as they did with the camps. there is camp and realism mode camp. maybe a new VS mode is in order besides the realism VS. or over due, at this rate i dont think they will ever change it though. i was one of the ones ranting and raving for a new vs mode with no effect so just kinda bugged me... I love the idea of having a handicap monitor that will change the difficulty for the winning team if they are say between 500-1000 points ahead(adv/expert) pure genius, and would cut back on the massive rage quitters... Plus the better teams just toying and babying with the lesser skilled teams... I just cant stand the whole not giving it your all because a team is falling behind and they want to keep it close, so they just baby you... I know when it happens and it bugs me, and i know when my team-mates are doing that, also annoys the hell out of me. big reason i dont play VS.

yah no hating on blogs, cept they are only once every 2 weeks now... bah... and they are talking about portal II in the blog, wtf... lets just worry about l4d 2 now guys... talk about being relevant, ha that should of been in the portal 2 section...

actually them talking about portal 2, a game that has nothing to with L4D 2..
does kinda bother me.. their polls should be more themed on the damn game im playing, like off the top of my head...

-would you like us to add expert/ ER versus as a new game mode in dlc 3?

honestly if all common did 20% damage theired be a lot less focus on 'RUN!!'
in versus.

- when we release the cold stream DLC would you like a free accompanying patch that allows you to play as any of the 8 survivors in any campaign?

-would you buy DLC 3 if we added 4-5 different outfits for survivors to use on xbox 360?

-following the popularity of Vs survival would you like to see it perminant?

-for those who enjoyed the l4d1 vs score system over l4d2's..
would you like us to add it as a option to choose when hosting a vs lobby?
in a future patch?

but no... valve has to talk about some other game instead.

Dude, it was one poll, on Valve's biggest game for a while, it's hardly that bad.

Am I the only one who wouldn't like a difficulty setting? I quick match mainly and I would hate to quick match and join an Expert Versus game. Advanced Versus I could cope with but Expert? It would just be a claw festival.

I don't like the idea of upping the difficulty for the winning team either. That would just make people try to lose points so they didn't get the higher difficulty setting.

Also, playing as any survivors in any campaign wouldn't work, you'd have all kinds of voice acting to do for what is essentially a superficial upgrade. There's all kinds of things that could be improved with the time that would go into this.

Still they have a portal 2 forum, whats that doing in a l4d 2 game poll? weird. neyways for the difficulty settings getting harder for the losing team and people trying to lose just to make it harder wouldnt work if it would keep it balanced based on the point scale. If one team is about 700 points ahead or so put em on expert. once the game gets closer like a couple hundred points difference in score it would go back to even settings. this would be a diff mode setting so it wouldnt effect the current vs games.

What I'm saying, is that if the winning team started to get so far ahead that the difficulty would soon be raised, they would probably commit suicide so that they don't get the rise.

If it was a different setting, I think it could be used as an introduction to Versus. Like the opposite to Realism Versus.

The difficulty change would make it so the best and therefore most deserving team will be at a disadvantage, if you are losing badly just try to up your game, if all else fails RAGE QUIT FTW!!! :P
