Good stuff, WileEeEee (or however you abbreviate your name). I've seen a lot of non-Creative X-Fi based cards around lately as well, so if you're used to the X-Fi suite of tools, but don't want to deal with the company's bullshit, you can get it elsewhere.

BUMP
So is there a driver out there for the creative sound cards that anyone has that works? I have this 24 bit SB audigy laying around that i could use to take some stress off the processor and mother board sound. Any help would be appreciated.
EDIT: there is this one http://uk.europe.creative.com/suppor...ct=1&x=35&y=14
But as i have heard, it still makes vista act up!!!

Re: Creative threatening legal action on Custom Driver Makers
I bought the X-Fi notebook for my laptop solely to get the X-Fi sound in 2142. Well it turns out that deep in the fine print you cannot put the X-Fi notebook in Game Mode because the software doesn't support it. So no X-Fi sound from 2142. I know, I know, caveat emptor and all that but come on X-fi should mean X-fi.
I figured even without the game mode the external card would still sound better than onboard. Well after repeated problems getting my mic to work, plenty of CTDs and horrible in game sound I switched back to the built in sigmatel card. Since switching back to the onboard:
-Mic works great
-Sound is better
-Not one crash to desktop (can't say for sure this is due to the soundcard but it seems suspicious that I haven't had a CTD since I ditched creative)
No love creative, no love.

How many here have used the the razer soundcard? the headphones I have are good but I haven't tried the card yet... and I'm willing to try it if it fixes my other issues anyway vista64 and x-fi are just not friendly
