Mic stopped working!

Ben I had the same problem. I did everything you are describing. The only way I could get mine to start working again was to do a restore point.

Well if you've done a lot since your mic went out I can understand, but if it is only a day or so it might not be that big of a deal. The driver updates you've done haven't helped so losing that would be that big of a deal. There should be a very recent restore point in your system that you can go to.

Just a thought...

That was going to be my last sugestion. I really think it sounds like your mic was turned off by the copy program or that it has been slaved to the cam corder. I am just trying to find out how and why…sorry.

ive had all kinds of trouble with my mic, or rather, getting it to work, and keeping it working.

I uninstalled my sound device and reinstalled it, and it worked. For some reason, it is always last on my checklist...

How would I uninstall and reinstall the sound device? Just kick it off from the sound drivers bit, and then run the newest drivers?

Ah, well, I uninstalled and reinstalled the sound card and it still isn't working.

Hmm... if it's onboard sound, you could always try flashing your motherboard to the latest bios version. I know it isn't exactly related, but it's generally a good idea anyways. Oh, and PM me a shipping address if you want that Turtle Beach external thingamajig. It works really well.
