    Time For an Upgrade or No?

    3dmark <-----link to left 10756 with a single GTS
    Ok I have around 450 to spend to upgrade or save for a second build. Any suggestions?
    I was thinking of Getting the Newer 512 8800 GTS (g92 core) but hmmm....
    I do however need a new hard drive and ddr2 800 ram but right now i see no need..

    I could However Get a Q6600 and a new Intel mobo for around 400 so yea..

    AMD FX-62 @ 3.2ghz Stock 2.8ghz IDLE: 29c Heavy Load 40c
    CPU Cooler: Thermalright Ultra 120

    Video Card: EVGA 8800 GTS 320mb OC Edition @ 675/1025

    Memory: Corsair XMS ddr2 667 4-4-4-12

    Mobo: 590 SLI Socket AM2 mobo

    Hard Drive: 250gig... Eww.. IDE 7200RPM shh lol i know IDE sucks

    PSU: Corsair 620w <-- The Red one

    Monitor: 22 Inch Sync Master 223BW Samsung 2ms Response time... native res: 1680x1050

    New Chip and Mobo...ftw....do it....that would show you the most improvement IMO... :9

    I'd agree. However, if everthing is running well, I'd put the money away and spend it later when you're going to see a bigger difference.

    Nothing is really that out of date or anything and if everything is running fine, I'd save my money for now too unless you just want to upgrade something. Hell man, your 3D Mark Score is higher than mine and I just upgraded.

    And don't feel bad about IDE harddrive, my dvd and super old school cd burner that burns at a max speed of 4X are both IDE....but they serve their purpose and I have no problems so I see no need to upgrade them currently.

    What you have right now is fine. It looks all pretty up-to-date to me. Id say , save for a newer and nicer build when the time comes.

    Are there certain games you want to play?

    You also have a higher score than me but you have a high clock.

    Q6600 and new mobo would make a big difference if you OC it, it fact it would probably better standard.

    Wait on the graphics card till more 10.1 GPU's are out.
