Yeah that's about $1500 Jason, from what i found. Not really wanting to spend that. Putting myself on a 1k budget, give or take a little, maybe 100 or so.

I don't entirely agree with you Hocus Pocus. I've bought the more expensive motherboard in the past just so that I can possibly put in the nicer CPU in the future, or have room for more ram. I'll buy the more expensive motherboard just for stabilitys sake. I'll buy the more expensive video card so I don't have to upgrade in 6 months. There is a lot of truth behind you get what you pay for. Just my 2 cents.

Absolutely right, but like I said aside from stability ( which you would find plunty of in a p5 chipset) you're not gaining much. For most of us, gaming rigs only last a couple of years and we get bored/tired of our "old" one and want to get a new one. So i dont really see the point in getting something to upgrade consistently. And like I said before if he mentioned he was into overclocking tweaking etc, of course you'd want to spend a buttload extra on a mobo and you'd also want the quad core. But I don't get that vibe for him, I think he's looking for a solid rig for under 1k.

And pablo you're right about the sound card, with a swap here and there with a psu and memory we could prolly shave enough to fit in a badass sound card and still keep it at 1k.
