    Buying RAM

When you buy RAM for your computer, does it matter on what kind it is or do I have to buy s specific one?

    Re: Buying RAM

Well it depends on your mother board. DDR (has 2 spaces) is an older generation of RAM and i think is kinda expensive if they make it any more.

DDR2, is more up to date Which is most likely what you have. (has 1 space)

Look at the picture and if you have to pull out your RAM and see if it looks like that. Just remember to put it in all the way.

    Re: Buying RAM

So when I buy new RAM, i just take out the current RAM card and replace it?
I'm not exactly sure where it is on my motherboard, i found place where there are 4 slots, and two of them are taken.
I kinda feel like thats where my RAM is since thats not the slots that i connected my video card and wireless internet..

Ok, well do this.. Who makes your computer, the model #, everything.. More than likely it's DDR2 800 or maybe even DDR2 1066. But I'm leaning with 800.

with it being 2002 or 2003 it could likely be 667 or less.

actually i did the easy thing and brought my computer to the store today. the guy figured out it was a DDR2 and i purchased a RAM with it so i upgraded to 1 gig.
i still have trouble flying planes tho in BF2.
occasionally my game crashes to the desktop when i fly and i still really suck..
so i guess ill never get my basic badge for flying..
    thanks.
