Anyway when i looked at the name of this thread, i was like "Great a projector inside a R2D2 case, but damn.

OK, so as stale as l4d2 is on xbox, people are still playing it.

The guys that play Confogl (well, the Valve Mutation version anyway) have been totally bummed since weeks ago, when Flu Season overwrote / got in Confogl's slot... This means that although they have the mutation 'saved' as user settings, they can't actually use them to make lobbys and play.

I've followed them through their lil tournaments over the last year or so, lurking silently in the internet shadows, and I must say, for all the shit-talking they do, they play well, and they play a lot.

They have all been using Contender Gaming as their 'hub' I suppose, until recently where the site is just not functioning / loading. All games have been played, and one guy, MKJ, has been keeping track etc etc, all done in forum threads (as the site's score reporting, team-making et al bust well before the forums went down).

They are thinking of convening over on the Steam Forums (which isn't the best place for xbox peeps), but I think they'd be better off coming over here...

OK, so the questions this time are....

1) Are you guys up for getting some new, regular members?
2) We're good with the ladder thing...?! It works and should be used!
3) Would you accept about, erm, maybe 20 or so guys over here to run their tourneys?

OK, so it's xbox, and it's 'comp' play, so there's plenty of wisecracks, bitching, in-fighting etc, you know what you're dealing with...

4) Is there any way (total idea here) that you could give certain users access to certain ladders / tournaments at all?

Like, if they came over here, could we let them sign up, look around the place, and then quietly get on with their tourney? I say give them an elevated user level just so they can keep themselves to themselves and cause as little drama as possible.

(I don't mean to sound like they're all messy, screaming kids who are gonna rip up the sofas, poke the cat and smash the vase in the hallway on their way out..)



I just thought, if they're still playing / will play when confogl gets a re-release on xbox, or even if they made it a permanent mode, I'm sure they'll be playing it 'til the proverbial cows come home.

So, my proposal is, we offer the CG guys a roof over their heads, let them either use their own little section in the forums, be it public or private threads or actually using the ladders script, to continue to play in some sort of organised fashion? MKJ seems to be a 'good egg', and really went out of his way to try to keep their comp scene going, and I believe he could keep a reign on things (due to the amount of respect he's earned over the last 6-9 months).

That is, if you guys would be happy to take them in...?

Let me know what you think, I wanted to ask here before anything was offered.

The comp xbox l4d scene consists of possibly the worst people I have ever seen (personality wise) and only cause nothing but drama for each other.
