HELP: XP Pro x64 Install HELL

So... I was having enough stability problems with my machine (good for several days, then progressively worse BSOD's) that I decided, "WTF, everything has a 64 bit driver available these days," and dusted off a very lightly used XP Pro x64 disk & started a fresh install...

Now, 3 days later, the feckin' thing still won't install- It hangs at random places for no apparent reason, can't transfer files from the disk to the instal directory, you name it. POS.

So, it there a good work-around? Maybe DL a torrent, burn it, hope I get an unfucked version that agrees that my key is valid, and try again? Or just suck up my wasted bills, curse Microsoft's shittiness to the heavens once again, and buy (shudder) Vista?

Grrrrrrr.

Abandon it now. I bought 64x last year because it was cheap and I wanted to go legit. But in the end. It's not worth it. Not many companies have 64 bit drivers. Some programs won't run on it. It's more hassle than it's worth.

So just got back to 32 bit and live happily.

As weird as it may seem, I think there are more 64 vista drivers than 64 bit xp drivers out there now.

XP x64 = CRAP. The driver support is still poor for XP x64. If you want a 64-bit OS, go Vista.

Yeh, I never tried XP 64 but just went Vista 64 and it works fine.
