Vista64 and AGP
So I'm up.....here I am....doing the vista.
but my g-card is being recognized as a "standard VGA adapter" and not my 3850 AGP.
My BIOS was up to date before I even loaded vista. My motherboard drivers came straight from viaarena.com, and my catalyst drivers are the latest release. I've reinstalled both driver packages several times....no dice.
Can't 3dMark. Can't even get dxdiag to show my directdraw and d3d stats (says "not available").
What am I doing wrong?
I have an Abit AV8 motherboard running an ATI 3850 AGP on Vista64. other than the OS change...my box is physically the same computer.
fuck you, vista.

Re: Vista64 and AGP
gotcha, ho.
went into device manager, told it to reinstall the VGA adapter, "have disk", scanned the ATI catalyst package for the WDM and Display INF's....selected the one available...had to scroll around to select the 3850 adapter......wham slam ya mamma.....and we're 3dMarking.
fuck you, vista. I win.

Re: Vista64 and AGP
hmmmm. 700 pts slower (about 7%) in vista.
son of a bitch..........vista. But hey....show me someone else running a dual core FX 939, an AGP g-card, DX10, and vista.
Per 3dMark, I'm the only system to compare myself with (when you hit compare for your published score).
that makes me unique. I feel pretty.
