    Re: Alternative to Itunes

For just listening to music, I use Windows Media Player, simply because it'll play copy protected .wma files, which is what most of my music is in.

Panic, does Foobar work with those, and does it have a "most played" list? I want one of those, just because I think shuffle doesn't really randomize, but itunes won't play my music.

Ok, now that i have one i am loving the Zune market place. The only downside is Microsoft points, but it still boils down to 99 cents a song. Or you can get unlimited music for $15/month. It also makes syncing music to your Zune as easy as drag and drop.

Media Monkey! It's really good, it's easy to put stuff on your I-pod (just right click, and click on sync to i-pod.) And, it's easy to manage a music library on it too. The only bad things is you have to go to file to and click rescan tracks, to put new ones on.

I use winamp too, and i have a good reason for it.

Winamp has "universal shortcuts" that Itunes, Windows Media Player, etc dont have. I've got a Dell Inspiron with play/stop/next buttons on the front. With winamp, i can use those buttons to start/stop music while i'm in game. And to change the volume.

Besides that, winamp also has a sweet docking feature that minimizes it into another taskbar type thing. Not for everyone, but i like it.

Here is a video on the zune marketplace.

And at the end when he says they have no TV shows, they have since added TV shows onto the marketplace.

You can get the zune software here:
