AVG, Avast and Antivir are all pretty equal as far as free Antivirus solutions are concerned. I've been using AVG, but recently decided to give Antivir a try. The reviews/comparisons I've read said it's the best of the bunch at detecting threats.

Good write-up on the 3, but it is based on older versions of some of the products (AVG.)
