I need your opinion on Hosting

I am currently developing my first website and I am having a real problem finding a hosting solution. I just have no idea which company to trust. I have tried reading reviews but half of them are made up and the other half are written by 12 year olds. Currently, I put together a FreeBSD box with Apache on it and I am running the server from my house so I can test the site and edit it. This is not going to work out as a long term solution though. I wanted to know what experiences you guys have had with hosts. I am mostly concerned about their customer service and ease of use. Here is some information on the website so that you can get an idea of what type of hosting I need:

Static html page; no need for mysql or php
Total bandwidth of page if you visit every page on the site is <200k
I don't expect more than 2000 visits a month
I would like to eventually host 2 separate domains from this one hosting solution

Also, if there is a hosting solution where I can buy a 6 month contract that would be ideal, but I can do a 1 year deal as well.

I hate to admit it, but I am using Yahoo! Geocities to host not-your-base.com. it costs me $11.95 a month and has many bells and whistles. Their support is great and they have never gone down or had errors. I mean it is a HUGE company with a lot of coverage and personnel. They are very consistent and very easy to use.

For a very small business solution it aint bad.

Before I got a dedicated server, I has an account with phpwebhosting.com. I never had a probelm with uptime, mail, or anything. Its no doubt no thrills, but I was happy with them.

I am not sure if they will fit your needs, but it worth checking out.

I heard good things about rackspace you might want to check them out, ever heard of them?

lol- i got a buddy that works @ rackspace in SA, they just moved into an old SHOPPING MALL as their new building. Ridiculous. lol...

I currently use www.bluehost.com and it's been pretty good to me.

I use ICDSoft.com for my personal hosting. They are a little more expensive, but they haven't failed me yet.

They are $4.95 a month for 375GB space 5TB transfer. I have been with them 5 years and have been happy with them.

Only problem is Swamp Fever, Hard Rain and Dark Carnival are NOT DLC! So what's the problem here? It may be my disc since I can't even install it but I'd just like a second opinion in hopes to avoid purchasing a brand new L4D2 disc.

The only time I've had this happen to me was when someone accessed an unknown area in Survival. They went to the safe room and while the next map was loading that message came up.

Other than that I've never had that issue, not sure what it is.
