Big Problem
Ok, so i just got my new rig up and running, but now i have an issue. No matter what i do i can not get connected to the internet on my computer. When i first got it running i got it home and it connected fine and worked until last saturday, when it stopped and has not worked since. I have talked to damn near everyone at my ISP place and not one of them know what the problem is because my sisters computer has internet. I dont know what the hell is wrong here and i thought i would let the minds of TTP throw around some ideas. I know we have some really computer savvy guys here, so what do yall think could be the issue?

Re: Big Problem
Is your sister hot? That could have something to do with it...the internet is partial to hot people.
ok....seriously.
Could be your NIC...steal her wireless USB antenna and try to connect that way. If it works, my bet is it is your NIC (be it an expansion card or an onboard NIC).
There's another question....
do you have a NIC card plugged into an expansion slot? If yes, does your motherboard also have a built in one? If yes, is the onboard one enabled or disabled in your BIOS?

Re: Big Problem
I already tried to hook my sisters wireless USB device up to my computer, but since i dont have the drivers or install disc for it, it is useless. My mom has the disc in Oklahoma. I have tried to take the stuff off of my sisters computer and put it on a blank CD, but for some odd reason it wont open.
Consultant, i dont have a card put into an expansion slot. The only card that we have will fit into my comp, but the cables dont fit into the connections. And yes, my motherboard does have onboard ethernet. It has two connections in the back, both are enabled. I have tried disabling one, but that didnt work. I have tried to connect to both of them, but that hasnt worked either.
Grave, that sounds interesting. That could be the problem, but how would i fix something like that? I cant find the software for my router or any thing, but i shouldnt need it since my internet was working at one point."Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." - Albert Einstein
