wow, I had one of those, awesome card but its time to upgrade!
cost? for 125-150 you can get a 4850 which is ridiculously powerful card for that amount of money.

    Re: ATI vs Nvidia

I have a question. I presently have a ati 1600/1650 series card ( 512 mem). I am thinking about upgrading to a newer card. I was thinking about getting a Nvidia 8800 ($150) or a ati 4850 ($170). I am wondering if I should stay with my present card or go with one of the ones I mentioned.
I would like your input on which way to go.

I had a 1600 before I bought a 4870, and the difference between the two was like night and day. I'd say the 4850 isn't that big of a step down so go for it.
    You won't be disappointed.

    Re: ATI vs Nvidia

    No question there, 4850
You can get one for 140 or less if you keep your eye out for rebates on the net:

    Thanks McStrange :9

Now I have something to put my christmas money towards.

Uh, another question (sorry, I just started playing games in June so I don't know much about computers yet, I'm workin on it). How do I put the video card in and all that once I get it? You can PM me if you don't want to clutter this thread.

Do some reading, its not tough - just make sure the parts are right before you buy them and then they pretty much only fit in one place.
