    Re: Computer for $650

i can run most of the ttp games on here (haven't tried running ArmA or COD:4) and its got a worse processor (in speed AND l2 cache), less memory as well. if you upgrade the graphics card and probably the psu, it could be a pretty good comp. One thing i have noticed is that alot of time you can get a computer with a great processor, good ram and **** graphics card (thats pci-e) for quite a bit lower then the pre-builts with a decent or good card.

Perhaps that website is AMAZING but his post wasnt.

Btw Spaz what would you use that computer for?
It has all the power it needs to be a media center, blu ray and all...

hook it up to a projector, and HOT DAMN!

If you can afford a projector then you can afford a better system than that.

If Blu-Ray is what the system is all about then you would definitely want a better graphics card.

This forum is for all kinds of hardware discussion. As a PC and Hardware mod. I am telling you to please feel free to try and sell your old hardware here first! For gaming or not, someone may find it useful.

This is a fine system for office use, media center or general family/kid use.

It should play most games just fine if not on "jesus settings" (lol @ Rock).

Considering it has DDR2 (kinda slow DDR2) it must be a PCI-E, but it looks like it is using the latest hyper transport.

If I had an extra 650 I would add it to my collective as a new bedroom computer (mostly a media center) to replace whiat is currently a PIII. That demonstrates how much power one needs outside of gaming.

I thought it was a pretty decent PC for the price. The blu-ray player and processor alone add up to about $400.

Good for someone that doesn't build their PCs personally.

Just FYI I am not buying that rig. I already have a good one of my own.

Also, the vid card is the only thing that truly needs to be upgraded. Even still it can run ttp games just fine; maybe not with triple digit fps, but it can be a decent rig for someone with limited knowledge of computer parts and assembly.
