Help with a raid that is breaking

I have a Asus M2N-SLi Deluxe mobo that one of my RAIDs is breaking. I have 2 different arrays on my rig, one is a striped array with Raptor drives which is where i have all of my games and OS installed and then I have a mirrored array for all of my music and pictured... etc.

The mirrored array keeps breaking and I have to go in and fix it. If it was a one time thing, no problem but it happens like every month or 2.

Do y'all think this is a fixable problem or should I RMA the board to Newegg and get a replacement of a different board? From what I've read, the board is riddled with problems and I myself had a lot of issues with just getting it running.

i think you've already done your research. if you've read the board is riddled with problems, and you're experiencing problems yourself, then ditch it. it will save you many headaches in the future.

i've never had a problem with arrays failing w/o a hard drive failure. that alone would tell me that the product is not trustworthy.

Try to use PCI or PCI-E raid card for the mirror. Cost might be $70.oo comapared to new MB and the work it takes to config. Usually MB raids are flaky. On the bright side the striped raid didn't break. That is a windows reload.

I used to have a RAID setup on an ASUS mobo, (an SLI-Deluxe, M32, maybe?) and it was more trouble than it was worth. I like ASUS fine for the most part, but I am not convinced they really have their shit together when it comes to robust RAID controllers.

I would check for a bios update. Any logs that say why its breaking?

I haven't checked logs on the RAID array but I don't think there are any.

Update... I've been getting random BSODs (None the same twice) so I'm going to RMA my mobo to NewEgg when I go on vacation.

FYI, although the specs on this board are decent for a mid/high-range board it's a POS. In retrospect, I should have spent a little more for a better board.

And I've checked for BIOS updates. I already have it installed.
