Lost Connection (BF2)

So for the past few weeks, I've been having disconnect issues from BF2 and BF2142. I have not changed ANYTHING on my PC in that time, and I've done several virus scans. The game will be running fine, then it'll freeze ("There is a problem with your connection"), and then half the time it'll start back up, but with a lot of lag, and half the time it'll drop m to the server select screen, with a "Your connection to the server has been lost" message. I have NO problems with any other game or program.
So far I have done:
- Update PB (no good)
- Reinstall PB (no good)
- Contact EA (no good... ever)
- Reinstall the game (no good)
- Reinstall PB (no good)
- Delete all PB folders from BF2 and BF2142, then reinstall PB again... (no good)
- Open up a bunch of ports on the wireless router (the PC is connected directly, not wireless) per EA's instructions. I have not attempted to play again... yet.
Next on the list-
- Go to firehouse and get large sledgehammer
- Strike PC repeatedly with large sledgehammer
- Build new PC while cursing computer technology... :5

Same thing's been happening to me lately. I'll be able to play for a few minutes, then "lost connection to server" and right back to the server select screen. The problem actually started for me a few months back. I tried everything you've done, as per EA's request. I went through something like 10 email exchanges with EA. And then one day, it stopped happening and I've been able to play fine for the last 1-2 months.

Then a few days ago, it started happening again. Like I said, I've tried all the fixes you listed and nothing helped. I know from being in-game lately, it's happening to others as well. If you find out anything more, let me know. I'd like to understand it as well!

It sucks, but take comfort in the fact you're not alone...I guess :-) Believe me, I know it's frustrating...

I have been having HUGE lag spikes in 2142 since 1.5

I would say 1 in 5 times I die My screen is paused for 10-15 seconds and I come back dead. Last night I was nose to nose in a walker with an enemy walker. Just as I hit my sheild My screen locks up like a huge lag spike (32 ping) and when I can move again I am looking at the respawn timer. I was paused the full duration of my shield and long enough for him to do 40% damage to me.

I was damage by the walker I killed just before him and was gonna lose the duel no question but, by god, I want to die shooting at him damaging more for the next guy. Not drooling like a moron staring at a butterfly on the view screen.

Every time i swear, I am laying down pooring hot Ganz lovin' into a far off target and I lock up. Come back to 5 sec left in my respawn timer... killed by a sniper rifle.

I woudl also say 1 in 10 times I get these pauses It dumps me out to the Log in screen with the "Connection to EA server lost whatever" message and I cant log back in. Have to shut the game down and restart it completely.
