Thread: AMD or Intel?

Re: AMD or Intel?
I have owned a few AMD comps and currently a few intel computers. All these cpus never game me any issues, but there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that intel currently has the most superior cpus on the market. My q9450 can run laps around my old amd fx-60 and my new laptop scream absolute speed and power.
I probably will stick with intel unless amd proves it can match speed and price.

Re: AMD or Intel?
Intel was far faster until the AMD64 came out... But with the Core2Duo, Intel took back the lead (though video encoding has always been dominated by intel) and lately AMD has fallen way behind in the horsepower department. My last 3 builds have been AMD, but my next upgrade (soon) will be intel.

Re: AMD or Intel?
I am pretty biased considering I currently work in research and development for Intel... A 50% discount and stake in the company sure helps sway that opinion.
Prior to working for Intel, I would have chosen whichever gave me the best performance for the price... Which is usually Intel from my viewpoint. AMD's performance never really made me say "WOW" in comparison. It has always seemed pretty close in performance just without the amazing customer service Intel has shown me.
Good customer service from companies like Intel and Logitech trumps small performance differences.
