    Microsoft Hates Americans Stationed Overseas

    !@#$#@! MICROSOFT!!!
I bought an Xbox 360 the other day in part to finally have some decent American TV that does not come from my AFN box. I bought the 360 instead of the PS3 because Xbox Marketplace has TV and Movies available for download. BUT I CANNOT WATCH THEM BECAUSE FUCKING MICROSOFT WILL NOT LET THEM BE DOWNLOADED TO A GERMAN IP ADDRESS. I called Microsoft and talked to two techs and a technical supervisor. They claim that this is in accordance with German laws and licensing. BUT THAT IS A BALDFACED LIE because there is no rules about this in Germany. The rules are that since I have SOFA status with the U.S. Army, I am allowed to buy anything I want that is American. And even though all the information in my AMERICAN Xbox has my UNITED STATES ADDRESS, they tell me that they just really do not give a crap about Americans stationed overseas. so FUCK THEM

Do any of you smart people that own an xbox know a way around this? It is completely unimaginable to me that Microsoft is flipping a big bird to the members of the Armed Forces that are stationed overseas and no one is calling them on this. Who do I call to have them publicly ridiculed and called out on this?

I have a 360, live, the whole shabang, but I live in Texas, so I don't have that problem.

I don't understand why Bill Gates is denying some dude's money, but that's his choice. I have no clue what to tell you Gumby, besides that if you have Halo3, or you are buying Too Human, lets Do it!!!!

    :4 :4

Damn I should really start going to bed -_-

oh, there is the fun part.
    They DID take my money!
I wanted to rent a movie last night after the PX here had closed. Since I had no points, I used a credit card to buy some so that I could rent the movie. AT NO TIME PRIOR TO MY BUYING THE POINTS DID IT SAY I COULD NOT RENT MOVIES HERE. In fact, it only says this when you click on the "confirm download button" It DOES NOT say this in the licensing section on the files, it DOES NOT say this ANYWHERE until you click "confirm download"

So Monday, I was told by the idiots who work there after hours, that I could call up and speak with someone authorized to reverse the charges for those points. Microsoft has failed American Patriots everywhere and should be held accountable for that fact.

As for your other stuff, I own Halo 3, but I have not opened the box yet. I am still working through some games on my Xbox that I want to finish before I start in on my 360 games. I would like to use the 360 for some media stuff, but OH YEAH, MICROSOFT SUCKS.

    Gumby,

The EU HATES Microsoft. The EU is always suing them, banning their crap, etc.... So this is either Microsoft saying Up Yours to Europe, or this is Europe not allowing it.

New Xbox 360 Dashboard (Source: Engadget)

(Source: Engadget)Netflix service will begin this fall on Xbox 360

The second year of the pared down E3 Business and Media Summit in L.A. kicked off this week with Microsoft making some big announcements for the Xbox 360. Microsoft announced a new partnership with Netflix that allows the Xbox 360 to stream movies and TV shows from Netflix directly to your TV.
The new service is designed to complement the existing Xbox Live Video Marketplace says Kotaku, not replace it. One of the best features of the Netflix streaming service is that Xbox 360 owners who already subscribe to Netflix and have an Xbox LIVE Gold account will pay nothing more for the service.

Currently, the library of movies and TV shows that can be streamed numbers over 10,000. The streaming service is set to launch later this fall. To use the service, Microsoft say Netflix users will simply add TV shows or movies to their instant queues and the media will automatically show up on the Xbox 360. The media can be controlled via the Xbox 360 controller or Media Remote.

The Netflix service is a big component of what Microsoft calls the New Xbox Experience. However, there is more to the New Xbox Experience than the Netflix service. The Xbox 360 dashboard was redesigned to be navigable by those unfamiliar with the current blades interface the Xbox uses.

Kotaku says that the interface has reflections like those found in the iTunes Cover Flow album art. The navigation promises to give gamers a quick look at their games and content. The Guide will still be accessible in the same way from the Xbox 360 controller and promises to load faster even when there are lots of games in the library.

The Xbox 360 will get the ability to play games from the hard drive. That means players can rip disc-based games to the hard drive, the catch is that the original game disc has to be in the drive to play them. That means the only benefit is that the games are said to load faster.

Netflix subscribers considering buying the Netflix streaming box will want to give the Xbox 360 with its recently reduced price a serious look.

Just wait a little bit longer get a netflix subsciption and stream!!!!!

Or you could just get a membership at a video store.

The vast majority of dvd's are multi-language.

I am only guessing... but I would suspect it has more to do with the FCC and international trade regulations regarding media and intellectual property.

Again, my guess... I bet someone will look it up though.
