Hardware problem! need advice!
This morning i woke up to the lovely blue screen of death (physical memory dump) and when i went to restart it, i got no video and some beeps. The beeps were 1 long beep and 2 short beeps. I looked that up and thats the bios responce for "Display adapter problems". However, i have no other video cards in my house that are compatible.
Here are the specs:
Motherboard: ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe AM2 NVIDIA nForce 570 SLI MCP ATX AMD
Video Card: EVGA 640-P2-N821-AR GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB 320-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 FX-62 Windsor 2.8GHz Socket AM2 125W Dual-Core Processor
If you need any other info, just let me know.
So, What should i do?

Be sure to use the correct BIOS since there is a M2N32-SLi Deluxe as well. The flash utility in the BIOS is actually pretty nice and easy to use. It will even read a flash drive as a source for the updated BIOS file. After flashing, clear the CMOS again.
Second, see if anyone you know had a PC you can try your video card out in to make sure that isn't the bad part.
If the card is good and your still AFU, time to call ASUS and RMA it.

Re: Hardware problem! need advice!
Oh, and before I forget... this mobo is also picky about RAM settings. Mine wouldn't boot to CD/DVD until I put in my RAM's settings.
I also noticed that running a RAM diag (Like MemTest), my RAM failed horribly. Pretty much... the board has some decent specs but it's a boat anchor with nice specs IMO.
I bought extra RAM because I wanted it working right then. After 4 sticks failing individually (And randomly), I figured it wasn't bad RAM causing the problems I had.

Re: Hardware problem! need advice!
Well, i purchased a video card with the intent of testing, plugged it in, an still an error. I reset the CMOS and nothing changed.
After hearing that these motherboards have problems, I don't doubt that its down. Things here and there act up on it, but usually didn't impair the operation too much (certain USB drives don't work).
I bought this motherboard on July 15th, 2007. Which means its still under its 3-year warranty. Creating a RMA for it will take time. Maybe Fry's Electronics will service it!!! Off to check on that!
