Thread: 2142 Loading Error

I recently reinstalled 2142 on a new computer that is running vista instead of xp like the previous one it was on. When I launch the game I get and error that says:

"Conflict with emulation software"

and then I cant load the game. Any information on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

For us hardware challenged folks what is this virtual drive and how do I find out if it is installed or not.

A virtual drive is something like Daemon that can be used to mount Iso's (images of CDs and DVDs), but I'm going to go out on a limb and say you don't have one.

Found this:

I installed the 1.5 update for battlefield 2142 and now I get a "Conflict with Emulation Software Detected" error. I am not running any emulation software on my computer. I did a search of the EA site and found it might be a problem with SecuROM™ software that comes with the game to prevent you from copying the game. I e-mailed SecuROM™ and here is their fix.

Please download a new <BF2142.EXE> from the link below. I would appreciate it if you could rename your current one to

<C:/PROGRAM FILES/ELECTRONIC ARTS/BATTLEFIELD 2142 DELUXE EDITION/BF2142.EXE.OLD >

Extract the downloaded file into the application path mentioned and start the new application.
