SEMI-OT LCD == LCD TV Speakers "Crackle" sometimes.
I have an LG 42" LCD TV in my living room. Sometimes out of the blue it will start to shoot out a menacing "Crackle" every 3 - 25 seconds. Odd thing about it is I cannot find any correlation between certain channels, HD channels, settings, or time of day. It seems random! I tried a different Component in and same result. Doesn't happen when I am playing the old PS2. It doesn't seem to be the speakers, I can turn off the TV speakers and use my surround only, and it still does it. So I am guessing it has something to do with the sound driver / sound processor. Anyone have an ideas? I am pretty good with computers, but the TV is out of my league.

Possible power surge in the sound board causing the crackling.
Speakers will sometimes have static or a crackling sound if electricity that shouldnt be there is running through it. You'll find this in a lot of laptop computers as well with faulty wires running across speakers.
If the TV is new id try to get whoever you bought it from to replace it or have someone come take a look at it. Otherwise you better hope im wrong.

Might try new cables? A bad connection or connector can cause crackling. Try wiggling the cables and connectors to see if that will cause it.
I just reread your post, if possible can you try a different audio out port?
