while browsing Seth Rosenblatt's blogs at cnet (and learning of some nice Freeware apps, few i need but still) found this interesting one called Belarc Advisor, from what i get you can use it to test how secure your PC is as well as see detailed information on your hardware (including, according to seth, the amount of ram you have and the type of ram in each slot) here is the first look video on the program

It's a very useful program; I used it recently to retrieve the license code for my OS (I couldn't read the little sticker on the side of my PC).
