    Technical Term question about monitors

I'm seeing the term GTG when referring to response time of monitors. Anyone know what that means?

For example on a Samsung monitor it says this: Response Time 5 ms, 2 ms (GTG)

(sort of an old article, but this should give you the basics).

So a 5ms GTG may actually be FASTER than a 5ms Rise-and-Fall? I always though that GTG was faster than black to white - I am still a little fuzzy.

I wish they had done more side-by-side comparisons of models and performance.

A little regulation by the gub'ment would make sense. Make sure that all companies advertising in the US report the same benchmarks, not just the one that makes their product look good.

Exactly what we need, more government intervention.

    It's nice to have standards.

One online article I saw (written in 2005) stated that federal standards would be out in 2006, but I could find no reference to any such standards. Maybe the feds got side-tracked by digital TV.
