    Vista 64 or XP 64

so i just ended up pretty much doing an overhaul of my system. people have been tellin me that 64 bit OS manages memory and hardware better so i thought i'd try it for this build.

what should i take into consideration? is there pretty good driver support for 64 vs 32? should i go with Vista or XP?

i'm assuming it'll run all the 32bit sfw no different than if i was running them in 32 bit OS..

    thanks for your input

I know a lot of people who had major problems with gaming on WIndows 64. Many manufacturers barely keep up their drivers for it because they were never required to make them in the first place.

Vista on the other hand requires Vendors to make both 32 and 64 bit versions, and the suport is good.

I play all my games on Vista 64 flawlessly. Vista had some problems when it first came out, but they seem to have got it working right for the most part. The vendors are catching up now with drivers too (about time, Creative)

Personally I recommend Vista, especially with that new mobo, if your GPU is newer too you should not have any problems.

XP 64 driver support sucks. Vista x64 (which I'm running now, for the same reason) is much better.

I have vista 64 and all my games run flawlessly. The only 2 things that I could not use on vista 64 were my registry cleaner and my webcam....big whoop, right?

Like others said, as long as you have a pretty powerful system, you should be fine.

    No regrets here.
