    Ipod help

I have an ipod shuffle. That would work fine with itunes, then I try to put music on a friends ipod that says the ipods files are corrupt so it doesnt work i take it back.

Then i plug in my shuffle and it says the same thing, files are corrupt the ipod needs to be restored so i did that thinking it would work fine. It didnt work afterwards. So i reinstalled Itunes and still nothing. I'm really not sure what to do now.

    Any advice?

Format it as if it were a USB drive?

Dont know what kind of whack file system apple uses though.

there should be some combination of buttons to hit to format the ipod right there.

    To google i go!

Well i read that it uses a FAT32 file system(windows uses NTFS). However if you wipe the whole thing like that it would most likely cause problems, like deleting instructions the ipod stores on the flash memory.

Is your computer authorized? Is your Ipod's software updated? Have you, perchance, dropped your Ipod recently?

Using customer support is also advisable although different people get different results. If you have an Apple store near you, you can set up an appointment where they can repair your Ipod for free. It should take no more than a few minutes.
enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P

Hmmm...I can't remember exactly, but I believe you'll need an iTunes account. Browsing their website would provide more answers.

    Re: Ipod help

Could another ipod give me say a wierd file for itunes or say a virus that affects itunes. I have deleted all the itunes software and then I reinstall it and the same thing happens. I have checked it with a friends ipod and it doesnt work either. Im downloading the update right now. Soooo frustrating.
