Power supply on top - how old fashioned and counter-intuitive!

The 182 is basically a pre-BTX, BTX style case.

Stuff is more logically placed to be conducive to thermal dynamics.

Oh what was I thinking. I guess everyone with any light coming from their case sports the 1998 Integra Type-R.
Then if you have a dull boring case with only one fan in the back you must be a super pimp driving the m5 on the autobahn.

There are gaming cases built to keep things cool.
Then there are cases that are built for office pc's and grandma's internet computer.

    Its up to you.

    lol

If ya look at that 182 - The PSU is in its own compartment so it's heat never even gets to the motherboard.

The highest object in the case is the CPU, who's heat is directly exhausted by 2 fans and the ambient temp of the case is never impacted by the largest hot object in the case...the PSU.

But yeah, I'm sure your neon blue windowed monster gets you laid constantly.

Your right about its own compartment, but the case is steel, not aluminum. All the heat created in a steel case is distributed by radiant heat, thus traveling through the case up towards the motherbord.Aluminumun cases disipate heat more quickly. Firefighter Jester FTW.

    Re: Case and Heat sink!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Like Jason said, the 9700 Zalman is the best. it out proforms water in some applactions. And as far as the Antec 900 goes, its a good case. ran it for almost a year. Things are a tad bit tight. but the cooling side of it is unreal. im running the Antec 1200 right now. Just because it gave me more room. The Antec 900 and the coolmaster Cosmos and the Cosmos S are the best air cooling boxes out there. And as far as the Zalmans goes be sure to get the 9700 led. its all copper, dont get the silver looking one, it doesnt do as well.
    AND YOU ARE "WHO" AGAIN!!!!?

    The 182.

It's awesome without saying "I'm 16 yrs old and love neon lights - yo, dawg - check out my leet video card! You can see it thru the uber window in my case!"

The 182 is a Gunmetal Gray Monolith of Computer Dominance.

It just makes so much sense...

yup! i got this case about a month ago for about $160 after shipping and taxes. very happy with it so far. my cpu stays around 38 degrees with stock cooler. the hot PSU is on bottom separated from motherboard with airflow that goes around it. airflow that goes right through the main hard drive section and creates additional airflow to the hottest part of the MB. not to mention the 2 big honkin fans on the upper rear section.

the front panel mic input was kinda cheap but NOT indicative of the case as a whole. also don't like the fact that there is a screw for everything but then it does make everything much more quiet.

personally, i really liked the solid black. it feels more like a quality piece of equipment.

Aluminum conducts heat as well. Steel is heavier but they both conduct heat, right?
Regardless, they are both good cases.

I also got this case a month ago. Everything's nice and quiet. The only problem I had to deal with was the power supply unit bay. I bought this psu: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139007 It took a little over half the space there, so I had to remove that rectangle cover at the front and the fan lower chamber fan.

Yes,but aluminum will expel the heat alot faster than a steel case. But both do look great.
