    Port Forwarding

So I am not sure if this should be in here or PC Hardware and Technology, but anyways I just setup a new router and the connection has been very unstable. In my friends owners manual for Bad Company it said to enter a port manually into the router for I guess increased performance or to play it all. So I was trying to find out if there was something like that for TF2 that I could to make my connection more consistent. Any help would be appreciated, I know next to nothing about routers, connections, etc. Thanks.

Have you tried a straight wired connection from your modem to your PC to see if the connection is stable without the router?

I may be able to track down an extra router. I'll do some digging.

I would need like a 30 ft Ethernet cord to hard wire the modem to my rig :/

If it works that would be awesome.

I just got this this yesterday and I figured if I spend close to $100 on a router I should be golden. Any advice on a solid router, just returned this one and I am on the one linked above and both seem to be inconsistent. Tried playing TF2 last and it was spiking too hard to be productive.
