How do i get a wirless computer(vista) and a wired computer) XP to communicate?
Ok, i have a laptop that is running vista, that is using wireless. I also have a wired computer(My gaming PC). MY problem is: I haven't been able to find a way to get them to communicate through a LAN setup and share filed between them over the LAN. I would also like to setup a network drive sometime.

I had issues with this before. I found the solution via the great Google. Here is an article I found, hope it helps.

Yeah you can share your internal hard drives.
There is also a share folder if you would rather do it that way. Make sure that is shared.
I just share my hard drives with each other. Just make sure your wireless network is locked and secured.

As long as both PC's are "discoverable" with each having a shared folder, on the same network (usually MSHOME) you should be networked..... I have a mac, xp, and a vista machine all running with a NAS. Its hard to figure out at first, but you just have to make sure all your settings match up machine to machine.

Re: How do i get a wirless computer(vista) and a wired computer) XP to communica
I recently downloaded Apple's Safari, and it came with a network set up program called Bonjour - it claims to make setting up a network easy. You might want to try that - I haven't tried it yet but maybe someone else has.
I have the exact same network set up - a laptop with Vista on wireless, and a desktop running XP - it took me a bit of fiddling with firewalls and security settings as described above but it worked. The main reason I set up the file sharing was to share the BF2 patches, and the latest Project Reality version without having to download them again.
