SORRY FOR THE THREAD HI-JACK!!! BACK TO TOPIC...

I like 98% of your picks... I see you are getting the NVidia mobo and going SLI (is that planned for the future cause there are 3 pcie2x16 slots available on that mobo It's a shame she doesn't want to watercool with that processor... However, I've seen some good OC's using that processor on air... 4 Gig and still climbing here http://www.xtremesystems.org/Forums/...=195117&page=6 4 Gig on air here http://www.tbreak.com/reviews/articl...3&pagenumber=1.... Looks like your chances of doing better could be astronomical... I'm betting you can go much further if you can keep her cool enough since these guys only used an 8x and 9 x multiplier...

Does your grandma live in a warm place or cold place She may want to rethink the water cooling if she lives in the south...

That, or you just can't push that system to it's fullest... Besides, with that box, all you have to do is grab a motor, a reservoir, and some .5" toobing... Piece of cake!!! (I hope, I've never water cooled... This will be my first time and I went with the same box as you except it comes with a preselected cooling system... We'll see...

Yeah she isnt gonna overclock...we're gonna overclock it over about a weeks time and get it JUST right, (hopefully a solid 3.8 or 4.0ghz) and then give it to her. Im not the one in charge of the operation so i can only go so far. The video cards will not be overclocked.

As to the 8gb ram thing, we did change it to 4 x 2 gig sticks of that same ram so granny gonna be flyin high.

..and its not my g-ma lego :P ..its some lady that a family friend of a co worker who is married to some oil guy who shits thousand dollar bills. Quite a skill he has.

Lookin forward to your return man.

She's prpbably a level 46 Human Priest in WoW or something.

That, or she's hooked on The Sims.

That really isn't much of an OC for that chip with that ram!!! The q9550 can run 3.8 on air easy... Especially in your rig runnning corsair xms3!!! That is one regret I have. I will be extremely pissed if the OCZ PC3 16000 DDR3 ram isn't as stable as oc'ing as they say... I wish I would have gone wiht the corsair dominant instead, but it would have added another $250 per stick! ALthough, it has the world record on overclocking... It got to like 645 mhz http://www.hardocp.com/news.html?new...VudGh1c2lhc3Q= ... Not to shabby!!! My latest build will utilize OCZ for the first time and I'm worried that it won't perform to corsair standards, but every review I read says that it will... I guess we'll find out!!!

Anyway, I think you should push a tad harder with my q9550... I want to test its limits.... Besides, how would you feel if my cpu actually beat the shit out of your cpu in every category... Best CPU + Decent GPU vs. Best GPU + Decent CPU

And yes, this is a "who has a longer slong compitition!!!" ARE YOU UP FOR IT,,,,,, BUUDDDYYY

Syrringe, check out this OC on air ... http://www.tbreak.com/reviews/articl...3&pagenumber=1

Anyways... So is there a way to hook up the already installed water cooling heatsinks to a fan.. Might need to get a little creative but I bet you can push it further if you have a decent flow of some sort of liquid through the water cooling 1/4 copper tubes!!! Help keep things cool...
