Re: HeavyG's New Notebook
Just to report to the people who were thinking of a gaming laptop, I have an Asus M51Sn.  That line of Asus laptops is great.  Mine has a 9500 GS http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834220342 and they make them with 9600s and 9700s. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834220379
9700 GT.
Asus is good stuff and my laptop jams out all the new games just fine.

I was considering ASUS, but the one thing that pushed me away was their customer support. I have had two ASUS video cards and one of them died after 2 months and their customer service was impossible. It took them over a month to send me an RMA for the broken product and the replacement did not come for another 2 weeks. Needless to say, my gaming rig was down for two months. Now, this was about 4 years ago, but I still hear nightmares about their customer service for motherboards.
Anywhoo... I got the notebook PC on Monday, it was loaded with tons of HP bloatware, so that took a while to get off. I finally got some games installed and yes, it does get pretty hot while gaming. Unfortunately, my notebook mouse took a serious crap on me, so I didnt really get a chance to truly test it out as I am much too lazy to go behind my desktop and disconnect the mouse.
I ordered a new mouse that should be here any day now, so once it arrives, I will run some actual gaming tests. I quickly ran HL2 for a bit and it ran really smooth on 1680x1050 res with maxed settings. Stand by for more.

one to look at is the ideapad line of the lenovos. i got a y510 for about 1000 dollars that pretty good. isn't going to run the new games but for what i play it seems to be able to handle. Plus if you can get one with good parts, these things seem to be pretty durable bastards. I know i had mine take a whack into the car floor (thanks stoplight) and not a single problem. They run hot as **** though
