ASUS Xonar or some other non-Creative card would be my recommendation.
In addition to reinstalling the drivers, reinstall DirectX.

Well as soon as I get my hard drive chosen I'll order my new sound card. I looked at the ASUS Xonar and they just didn't look nearly as effective as Creative, the reviews were also not as good as those of Creative so I had to stick with the big C.
I'm going to order the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion series. It's on sale and only $199.99 and sounds absolutely amazing.

that's what i have..it's awesome...especially if you run it "digitally" to a cool ass home theater system. I SPDIF out to my Parasound HALO C1. If you play guitar also, you can jack straight into the front panel and route it through digital processing software and back out to your amp which kicks major ass.
