Toms Hardware on the Core i7 NeHalem Socket1366 CPU's

Apparently the cheapest one will be $284. Cheapest motherboard will be $305. And this all uses DDR3.

Thats $600 for CPU and Mobo alone. And then the RAM.

25% faster clock-for-clock than the Core 2. Overclockers shouldn’t get their hopes up though: all standard models are equipped with an overclocking lock.
The time in between generations is becoing shorter and shorter. Unless they gain huge improvements I will continue to OC the quad's.
If I had unlimited funds I would already have this stuff on pre order.

No you wouldn't, it's an Intel.

Put bluntly, you’d need two and a half Phenom X4 processors to compete with Intel’s current Core i7 flagship model.
    lol!

Hmm, not really looking worth it for FPS gaming right now.

I'm still running an E6400 and 8800GT, and for every single game I have (minus Crysis), that is more than enough. Guess I'll stick with that for a while longer. I could probably get a big improvement just upgrading to E8500 but not even sure if that's worth it in my 2-year old FSB 1066 board. Or just O/C my E6400 which is still at stock speeds.

imo.. the new i7 is only worth the money if you have a high end multi-GPU setup (Ex: Tri-sli or 4870X2 XFire) but if your running a single card i think dual cores should be fine
