Thread: CoD1, CoDUO, CoD2, CoD4.mp.exe wont work

So with my computer now having a new 92mm fan to keep the CPU under 161F, it wont seem to run any of my CoD games in multiplayer. I've reinstalled them for a third time and they just dont seem to work for some reason. Any advice? Any patches I could use? If its a hardware problem heres my computers specs:

-Intel Socket 478 Pentium 4 Prescott 3.0Ghz
-SATA 3gb/Transfer 120gb Western Digital
-CD/DVD IDE Drive
-BIOSTAR 7300GS 512mb 61bit PCI Ex/ 16
-BIOSTAR 478 Mobo 667 memory max 4gb
-2gb 667 Memory
-No sound card
-Windows XP Home SP3

Why/how will they not run?
Errors? mEssages? Bsods? give us something to go off of, we only have a few prophet hats around here and mines in the washer

Sorry im multi-tasking with other stuff and forgot the error message. It just frezzes and then I have to open task manager to shut it down. It wants to send a computer letter to the master server of Activison and i look at why it stoped working and it says that either one of the cod's .mp.exe did not respond.

it does this for all games? not just the cod series?
might be a driver issue of a driver the cod utilizes i spose.

No only my COD series it does this.

what prompted you to do this..and 161deg is HOT like burn shit up hot. You may have toasted something.

Firewall i turned off to see if it was blocking it and it still crashes so i restarted it and it still crashes

Ive done a chkdsk on the CMD and the disk is fine, ive opend up my other games and they work just as fine, and i just re-installed cod1. It works on single player but not on multiplayer.

Ok I found the problem with the help of my friend. All thta i needed to do was to disable the protocol of my lan card to open it up. Well this is refrence for others that might have this problem later on.
