    The LinkSys routers with DD-WRT firmware can offer you a lot of the same functionality as the high end access points. I've got 3 in my house using WDS. I was lazy and didn't want to run wire to all the rooms in my house, although now i'm re-thinking that idea.

    I've heard alot of good thing about ASUS Powerline networking, i would try that if i didnt live an appartment.
