    Taskbar and Icons missing...HELP!!

I was surfing the net earlier and all of the sudden my desktop icons and taskbar disappeared. I could Alt-Tab between open firefox windows, but I couldn't get right click the desktop or get the taskbar to appear by hitting the windows key. I googled the problem on my laptop and I found out that explorer.exe was not loading. I got the task manager open and ran a new process, explorer.exe and everything reappeared for about 30 seconds and then were gone again. I looked at the task manager and explorer.exe was not running again like it should.

Has anyone else ever seen this? What the hell is going on? WTF? I did a system restore and it seemed fine, now that shit is gone again as I am typing this post.

get a command prompt up using task manager (new process cmd.exe). Has to be run as administrator if you are running vista.

    SFC /SCANNOW

That will scan and repair any system files that are supposed to be protected. But it sounds like malware and a wipe and reinstall of windows might be in your future.

Krakkens and shit. stop tempting them.

Tried that and it didn't work. After hours of reading I found a post on a Microsoft forum that some people were having the same problem as recent as Dec. 1st. They recommended downloading SuperAntiSpyware. I gave it a shot and it worked. The Trojan was detected and is now deleted. This program does not get great ratings, but I'll say this, Windows Defender, Adaware, AVG, and Advanced Systemcare did not detect it. I ran all of those and did not find one single problem. Superantispyware found 30 problems. I will be keeping this program and I recommend everyone checking it out.
