I ended looking at my network card's settings out of curiosity, and I noticed that I actually do have compatibility for b, g, and n.
Is there a setting on my network card that could be the issue?
My brother-in-law also recommended something called tomato. Should I use that at all?enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P

SO DON'T EVEN TRY IT!
if you try to flash a device with firmware that doesn't support the hardware, the device will become unusable! i've actually done this on a couple of different devices, and it's been a hard learning curve! (luckily, one of the devices was cisco, and i was able to z-modem the correct firmware to it!)

Braddoc, the compatibility mode did help quite a bit. My packet loss has been significantly reduced. Hopefully this will solve the issue.
