After all the posts with people mentioning their upgrade to Vista I went ahead and took the plunge on my main system. I was holding out even though I had upgraded all my other systems in th house previously. I also used the upgrade as an excuse to go out and buy 2 new 32GB SSD drives to place in RAID 0 so during install I unhooked all my other drives (2 TB's worth) and went to work. All was well last night after I got it up and running and even fired up TF2 for about 30 minutes before bed. Tonight however, was a different story.

I connected my other drives, fired up the system, and went into disk manager expecting the OS to tell me it wanted me to import my drives but nooooo. It is saying my 3 drives were "invalid". Not foreign, not offline, but invalid. After a few minutes of putsing around it dawned on me (google helped too) Home version of anything does not support dynamic disks.

So to the next few nights I will be doing the old data shuffle between drives/ systems and the lesson of this story is "never fuck around with your main box".

...should have went Ultimate.
