Please help me learn more about this. I want to build a new system this year and want to get the best bang for my buck and not spend $7,000 on it.

I would say wait abit until they build on the Core i7 platofrm, and the prices drop and then build a system using that.

You can build a very good computer for $1k-$1.5k. Or even less if your willing to sacrifice a little.
