A Display Success Story

OK here is my story.

So when I got to college I tried hooking my 22" LCD Vizio TV to my computer along with my 22" LCD display. I have a nvidia 8800GTS 512mb with two DVI outputs. So I hook up my VGA cable from my TV to the computer (with adapter) to my 2nd DVI output.

Well I hit bit of a snag and accidentally changed the output one my primary DVI output to a frequency that my monitor couldn't read. So I switched the outputs so my TV was number one and monitor was number two, and set the primary display to number 2. I played like that for about 5 days.

So I was getting all sorts of error messages while playing L4D. NV4_disp to be exact. So I run a google search and find out I need to DL a new driver for my vid card. Then my monitor was messed up. It looked like it was a secondary display. For shits and giggles I check my TV RGB (computer input) and my primary display is there.

So then I started fooling around with the displays. (Meanwhile I am just talking at Deus. He really isn't saying anything back which is good) So I switch the outputs. Lo' and behold it actually works. So now my primary output is working with my monitor. I mess around for another 15-20 minutes and I managed to set it up so that my monitor is primary and my TV is secondary. I played with the options for the displays and I think I finally fixed it.

So I am randomly see my mouse move from the one screen to the other via the right side. So I decided to try playing a movie on the TV while browsing the web. So I can now play movies on my TV compliments of my computer. All by myself, I set up dual displays. I am so proud of myself

Multiple monitors are awesome for work...and for putting Crysis on the Super adminstrator account of my station's new computer so I can broadcast music and play an amazing game on a pretty decent computer at the same time. God, college is awesome.
