Mic.
Dude, is anyone good with computers and uses Realtek HD Audio drivers? I have tried to reinstall it and that didn't work. I have no idea what is going on. Could my wireless router mess with it? Any tips or anyone had same problem?
I have a Steele sound 5h v2 headset and it works. When I try it out on windows sound tester thing it picks up movement but it then hears itself somehow and just goes in circles until total feedback. On CoD4 its only feedback I have heard.
Also, I am willing to install a different sound driver.

Re: Mic.
Make sure, unless you actually are using the HD audio that you have that set to disabled in the BIOS. There is a difference in having the onboard audio enabled and HD Audio enabled, there should be 2 distinct settings. Double check you connections, make sure you didn't roll over your mic cable and slice it up, check your SoundMax control panel settings and make sure you have input set to MIC and not Line In, last (I think) check to make sure you have the appropriate sound field setup, i.e. 5.1, Headphone, 7.1, etc. If you have front panel headset jacks make sure you set the auto detect so it mutes your external speakers and it will auto apply the headset setting in the SoundMax control.
