    If you opened the side and dropped 10 degrees and no longer see crashing then heat is probably the issue.

    fans clean? is there somewheres for another fan? Maybe all thats needed is another fan in the front or the back to help airflow. I also thing the air scoop thing is silly, but from my experience dell puts together fairly decent systems with very specific cooling setups. If its simple to take off and put back on maybe try that.

    Another suggestion is to find the Graphics card fan control thingy in the nvidia control panel and see if you can manually set the fan speed, its ussually around 30-40% speed to keep sound levels down, but setting it at 60 might help the issue.

    1) Ok question are the game and xfire both 32bit or do you have a 64bit version of one installed?

    2) Update chipset drivers, maybe even firmware for mobo....

    3) reinstall directx

    4) check heat
