2 Technology Questions
1. I need to set up a remote link between my computer at work and my computer at home. I know a little about networking, however I have only done networking over the same connection. This would be connecting to 2 different networks. I need to have it automatically accept and give me control. Free is usually the best.
2. Is there a way to run BF2 without the disk legaly? I have the game and disk at the house, but I want to prime the server on my work computer during the day. Any ideas?
Thanks

Establishing a link between your home and work computers may be a violation of your company's policy. I'd advise you to check with them first and get it in writing. A friend of mine lost his job because he got verbal approval from a manager to establish a VPN connection between work & home so that he could work from home if needed. Network security eventually found his VPN and when his manager was asked he denied giving permission.
That being said. You could setup some sort of VPN or pseudo-VPN using ssh. Essentially you setup a secure tunnel from your work PC to your home PC. Things like Remote Desktop or VNC could then be used across that connection to control yoru home PC. There's plenty of howto's on the intarweb to tell you how to do this.
As for BF2, you can create a 'mini image' that you then mount using Daemon Tools to get past the copy protection that requires the disk being in the drive.

It's in that legal grey area and should be considered fair use, but again, using company assets could possibly be frowned on.

1. Hoooboy... you're gonna get everybody's favorite Answer to a Technical Question: "Well, it depends." This is because of the fact you'll likely need to negotiate a firewall and/or proxy to actually get a connection established. Every single corporate network is different from the next one, so I can't speak for your situation without knowing your individual network. And, actually, it depends on whether you're talking about a connection from your work PC to your home PC or vice versa. The former is much easier to accomplish for free. The latter is going to either require you to have a VPN available at your company or use a service such as GoToMyPC. Look into VNC, such as TightVNC which is a free remote desktop software. You'll have to poke two holes in your router and pray that your company doesn't filter out the same ports. (TCP 5800 and 5900)
2. No. Any and all No CD cracks will set off Punkbuster like a Christmas Tree. I'd try Wile's idea, though, it can't hurt I guess.

That is what I use for connecting to my home pc from work. I also use it to connect to my parents and Inlaws PC's when they are having problems.
I have yet to find a network that it does not blow right through all the firewalls and routers. It was suggested by one of our IT professionals that used to work for Cisco.
VPN would be the way you should probably connect to work from home. Generally companies will have a VPN network setup that you could connect to. If not, try the teamviewer, it works great.

Re: 2 Technology Questions
I am sorry I should have made myself clear about the work computer.
I have 2 work computers, 1 is company owned on the company network, lots of firewalls and no fun stuff. So because we are an AV/IT company that monitors IT in the hotel, I ran a line to the server room and patched it in like it was a room then ran it to my office where my other personal computer sits. I use a simple VGA switch to toggle monitors back and forth.
So, with that being said, which one of the options above is the best for that.
2. I will have to read up on deamon tools, I have been successful in the mounting of other softwares and games, but never attempted it with a game to play online. But either way I have to atleast have the disk on this machine once to mount it right?
Thanks Guys
