    Eh, if you want. Really the only advantages to using SATA DVD drivers are them being future proof, and SATA cables dont have as much of an impact on air flow as IDE cables. SATA Cables are also typically easier to work with.
    I would second that as well. SATA is the current standard. IDE slots on motherboards are being phased out. Many usually only have 1 IDE channel, so if you are running more than 1 ROM, or HD's and ROM's at the same time....you only have the master and slave channel to work with.

    SATA. There should be no price difference.

    and it's a lightscribe, meaning you can turn the disc over and burn images/title/text onto the face (of course, you have to use lightscribe disks, but they can be purchased or ordered anywhere).

    If you have it and your mobo supports it, I'd not bother buying new.
