Thread: Problem with Razer Lycosa

So I just got a new keyboard for Charismas, yes I know what you are thinking “Charismas? It is February" ya, that is what you get when you have an APO address. But like I was saying I got a Razer Lycosa and I am having some problems. It works fine about 80% of the time but every once and awhile it will mess with me. One example, I was talking to a friend on Windows Live and I typed "you " and for some reason it held down the "u" for about 5 spaces and it did the something for the space bar then they both cut out on me, didn’t work at all.
So what I did was try and shutdown my computer and it starts the shut down process but then it blue screens, something about a memory dump I think, so it restarts the computer so I do that about 3 times. Then while it was restarting I started it in safe mode and then shut it down form there and it worked that time so then I started the computer and it booted fine and then shut it down again to make sure it doesn’t blue screen on me and it didn’t and I started the computer, again no problems. I reinstalled the drivers, and completely reinstalled Winamp because whenever the keyboard messes up it has problems switching light setting(on, off, wasd) and Winamp will not change songs(you can click next song, or use the touch pad on the keyboard to change the song and it will change the song but 1sec later it will go back to the song you were on to began with and I can stop this with Winamp but then I can use the touch pad with it) after doing all the reinstalls everything was fine.
The keyboard was fine for about 2days and this morning when I got up I checked it and wouldn’t you know it is messing up again but this time I don’t know if any of the keys weren’t working, didn’t check, but like I said before it was having problems changing the lights and it was messing with Winamp. I tried to shut down the computer and it blue screened like last time but I restarted it in safe mode right way this time and shut it down from there and when I started the computer up again everything was fine.
Does anyone know what could be causing all these problems? I have the newest driver from Razer, I have the newest Winamp. I talked to one of my friends and he said that Razer was have some production problems and a plastic film what staying in the keyboard and it is not suppose to be there, but I am not sure what he was talking about. He also said to reinstall the drivers but I did that already, I uninstalled and the installed a new copy form the Razer website.

yo man... i didnt even read ur entire post... Ill just tell u what mine did..

I bought it and I loved the way it feels and responds.. Its the best gaming keyboard Ive ever had.. WHEN IT WORKED. The longer I had it the more it fucked up... sometimes keys wouldnt work... sometimes keys would get held down in chat or something like u mentioned... sometimes the media keys would go crazy and the backlight on the keys would shut off outa no where... as soon as you turn em on again they might stay on, they might shut off....

Long story short I won a g15 on gamewager and started using it... Works great... however the lycosa is a much better "gaming keyboard" performance wise... except for the bugs...

If you can send it back do it... and try to get a replacement.. I know some people dnt have any problems with theirs... bout about half do. If you can get one that doesnt short out or whatever its the best out there.

oh yea love razer mice... and damn not a day goes by that I dnt miss that lycosa... except when it would short out.....

up until then tho it was the leetest fuckin thing out there.
