Suck it Logitech
So apprently, all G11 keyboards (according to Logitechs phone customer service reps, 3 of them actually) say that certain key combos cannot be pressed.......like Forward, Left, and Jump......dude wtf...i cant jump forward and to the left
? Forward, right and jump work...but vice versa doesnt.....oooooooooookay thanks Logitech....thanks a lot.
Im sending back the Logitech G11 i got for xmas, getting a brand new one, e-bay it, and ordering this (Thru TTP of course 8):

Ive heard nothing but great things about this keyboard and the reviews on newegg are veyr very persuasive if you arent sure on buying it.

KEY REASON: Enhanced multiple key presses in gaming areas for complex in-game commands :9

Re: Suck it Logitech
Sounds like cheating.
Macros have always bugged me.
If you can't manage the button presses in the right order, fast enough on your own, then you are skill capped and shouldnt rely on hardware to do it for you. (Not you, Syrringe, just sayin.)
If I found a macro to do the perfect rocket jump, would that be ok?
Where is the line?
Why would you want or need a macro to "jump forward and to the left" - can't you press the buttons? Isnt that part of the skills we acquire over time as gamers? Shouldnt that ability separate good from bad players?

Re: Suck it Logitech
The g15 is a piece o shit as well. You can't move diagonally with holding the keys down. My dell keyboard did it and so does probably 1000 other keyboards. But the one time i buy a nice keyboard, it doesn't. Logitech=Fail.
Next up is the Razer Lycosa or Taranula...still undecided. I wanna keep the blue lighting to match my rig and copperhead.

Re: Suck it Logitech
He said nothing about macros, Consultant. He said he wanted to press three keys simultaneously. Were you just waiting for a vague cue to launch into that particular rant?
About the only macro I'd want is one that says "Push Button, Receive Bacon".Anywho, yeah, I look for keyboards that have exceptionally high responsiveness when it comes to multiple and simultaneous key presses.
I've got the Razer Tarantula right now, it does the job for me, although the USB hub on it sucks.

Re: Suck it Logitech
Razer keyboards are horrible....I had a razer tarantula and the thing would slide all over my desk, was not backlit AT ALL, the multiple keystrokes would lag, and the keys started to wear off within months.
I replaced it with the saitek cyborg. I loved it so much I got Mafia one for his b day just so he could get as excited about it as me. We both love it to death! It is contructed beautifully, the backlit customizing is amazing, and the multiple keystrokes is flawless. Syrringe, look no further...that keyboard is badass.

Re: Suck it Logitech
Its a product of how keyboards are manufactured, its not Logitec specific and effects all makers. (search for Key switches and matrix for more info)
its cheaper to use the older method where you generally cannot press more than 2 keys at once and have them recognized, which isnt generally a problem for anyone but gamers...
Pretty sure my g15 handles all the pressing I could ever want to do, but I know an older Saitec I had was similarly limited to 2.
Not sure about the sideways thing SAMBOs talking about, ill have to try to move diagonally sometime

Sambo...the Keyboard im buying lets you change the LED colors and dim them in and out...I dont think it has a blue option (im bummed too) ...but I say fuck it...I need a good keyboard that works....I heard the razer stuff falls apart and feels like its cheaply made.
And thanks Tony for the reassuring words. Makes me fell a lot better about my purchase :9

Re: Suck it Logitech
My old Saitec was the shit. Saitec makes excellent stuff.
As for unlimited key presses; go with the old standby omnikeynow sold by these guys:

Ultra durable, no key matrix limits old school pimp factor!

Re: Suck it Logitech
So I hope you guys read my other topic about how I spilled a drink on my keyboard.
Anyways, called logitechs support, they said I might as well take the keys out and clean them, since I already voided the warranty by spilling a drink on it.
I clean it, an hour straight I spent cleaning this SOB, it was fine for about 5 minutes, buttons are back to sticking. I need a new keyboard, should I just go ahead and buy the Saitek Cyborg? I want to, looks pretty :]
