How do I miss threads like this. Then we have the nvidia fan boys jump all over it

When it comes to all video card models either ATI or Nvidia they have low, mid and high end cards.

Its all about what you want from the card and what settings you expect to use in game.

If you want AA8x AF16x @ 1680x1050 and up go with the 4890. You want to run recommended settings or default go with the 4850. A lot of these suckers around here are still holding on and praising about their 8800gt's but they do not talk about what happens when they play the new games.
    Default settings!

Though I would say that even at 24 inch area a single 4890 is enough horsepower for anything you care to throw at it. My looking around earlier at the reviews had playable numbers on the 4890 for just about everything into the 30 inch 2560x1600 range.
That may be true but when you have everything maxed out at high res when in a firefight frames are going to drop. If you are that picky and want performance all the time even in firefights then get the second card.
In order to hold 60fps locked with vsync you have to have that extra gpu power no question about it.
