Re: Hard drive dying?
Since you have the extra drives, set one of those up real quick (ya a pain in the ass) and see if the problem goes away. Heck maybe you have one already pretty much ready to go if you just yanked an old one out without wiping the OS first. I know I have an old tiny Drive with an XP install on it that I could stick in and boot from if i thought my Drive was dying.

One of the limitations of the Asus P5QL-E Motherboard is that it only has one IDE input port, so I can only have 1 HD and 1 CD drive plugged in at a time, and I have to have my CD drive in. That is why I am also going to upgrade my drive to SATA finally.

I would rather not, and I am leaving in a few minutes to spend the weekend up on the river at my fathers place.
I just put some sewing stuff on Craigs list for my mom and she is going to give me 10% of the selling price of the whole package (that is $120) and I will buy a new drive from NewEgg with the affiliate link Monday morning or night.
