Okay, so tell me. Why is the case an important part? I mean shit 200 on a case. Why don't you use your same case as you have now and buy a kick ass video card.

Then next pay day buy the case.

The case was a priority in this build. My old case has housed 3+ computers and it is falling apart. I wanted an all aluminum case, which is not cheap. Like I said... I am on a budget. Technically, I don't even need the video card as my 2900XT was running games just fine... I just want something different.

I guess it is just a preference for this build to be more of an external upgrade than internal. When I upgrade again either in the Fall or next Spring, I shouldn't need a PSU, case, hard drive, optical drive... it will be all CPU, Motherboard, and Monster Graphics card.

It is going to be at least a week and a half before everything is finished. I am going out of town on business all next week, so I probably won't have together until the weekend after I get back.

Deciding what to get and ordering it all is the fun part. The hard part is waiting until you can actually throw it together!

Yea, that 2900xt was a monster for its time but the 4800's series is the right buy at the moment.

    Re: HeavyG's New Rig

I am still waiting on my Motherboard. Fedex says it will be delivered on Monday, but the do deliver on Saturday, so who knows...

The case is a monster. I mean, it is friggin HUGE!!! The two Sapphire 4850 cards I bought are not the best build quality I have ever seen, but I suppose they will do the trick. I have already started getting the case ready for the build. I added my fans, mounted the PSU, Optical Drives, and Hard Drives. I pulled the Motherboard tray so I can throw on the CPU, RAM and CPU Cooler, wire it up, and hit the power button.

The suspense is killing me... it has been 2 weeks with no PC other than my trusty lappy.
